The Art of Capturing a Dog’s Soul
Apple Rain creates handmade ceramic sculptures inspired by the beauty, structure and individuality of purebred dogs.
Since 2012, this artistic journey has developed through years of observing, studying and understanding dogs, their breeds and the details that make each one unique.
Each sculpture begins with careful observation of canine anatomy and breed characteristics, combined with an artistic search for the qualities that give every dog its own presence.
The result is not a simple reproduction, but an interpretation of the character, elegance and soul that define each dog.
When Clay Comes Alive
The creation of an Apple Rain sculpture begins with an intuitive dialogue between the artist and the material.
Before the final details appear, the first movements of the hands begin to shape the character of the piece.
Sometimes, during the creative process, the sculpture seems to reveal itself: a gesture, an expression or a presence emerges and guides the direction of the work.
The goal is not only to create a recognizable dog, but to capture the feeling of encountering one.
Craftmanship, fire and transformation
Every Apple Rain sculpture is shaped by hand and follows a unique creative journey.
The collection includes different artistic approaches, from carefully developed colour finishes to Raku ceramics, where fire, smoke and natural transformation become part of the final artwork.
The unpredictability of the process ensures that no two pieces are ever exactly alike.

Becoming an Apple Rain Collector
Each sculptures is individually handmade and develops its own character trhough the process of creation. These are not mass-produced objects, therefor, bringing a piece home is not a standard purcvhae, but a personal journey.
Collectors are invited to discover the artwork, understand the process and find the piece that feels right for them.

About the Artist
Apple Rain is the result of a lifelong connection between dogs and art.
Barbara Fraile’s fascination with handmade dog ceramics began during childhood and developed through years of studying breeds, participating in the dog world and working alongside breeders.
Since 2012, this passion has evolved into a sculptural practice dedicated to capturing the personality, elegance and individuality of dogs through clay.
